Beauport Bay at the Port of Quebec: a must to enjoy the summer!

The Beauport Bay of the Port of Quebec officially proceeded with its full opening the June 15 last. Visitors will now be able to take full advantage of the recreational tourism site’s facilities, 7 days a week, from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Located just five minutes from downtown Quebec City, Baie de Beauport, operated by Gestev, will again this year allow outdoor enthusiasts to cool off in the swimming area or the water games, to enjoy different cultural and sporting activities and, of course, to lounge with both feet in the sand to savor the experience of this unique site in Quebec. Once again, a memorable season awaits boaters!

New 2024

The year 2024 is synonymous with renewal at the Baie de Beauport of the Port of Quebec, while several services have been revisited with the aim of constantly improving the visitor experience: “Each year, we find ways to review our offer so that everyone can make the most of the unique site that is the Baie de Beauport of the Port of Quebec, underlines Emilie Darras, director. This year, I am particularly proud of our great programming and the improvements made to our various services. Summer will be far from boring! »

This year, the cabanas are relaxation style with deck chairs to enhance swimming sessions. Their pricing has also been revised in order to make the experience accessible to everyone. The more sporty will be delighted by the addition of a brand new pickleball court, currently under construction near the children’s modules. For their part, reading enthusiasts will be able to take advantage of the new magazine corner installed on the terrace, between the two pavilions.

A breath of fresh air is also coming to the food offering with the change of the two food concessions which will now become the pizzeria Rome Pizza et Russo’s Sandwiches. The outdoor creamery and the Lounge Bar merge to become Le Nordet – Creamery · Bar · Café. It is therefore for the very first time that young and old will be able to enjoy soft cream right in the Main Pavilion! Smooth cocktails and coffees will also be served in the cool of the building.

Improved programming

Several activities have been added to the summer program this year! We include, among other things, the return of Yoga Rebel Sundays with the addition of Yoga Rebel Tuesdaysgiven the great popularity of waterside yoga classes, and a very first day of showcase with QC Skateboard. Fans of DJ’s evenings will be happy to learn of the return of Apéreau. Note that it is also the great return of Latin evenings to the Baie de Beauport of the Port of Quebec thanks to salsa and bachata lessons with Blue Mamboof the Family Day and several regattas during the season. Ultimately, the site will be one of the host sites of the Transat Quebec St-Malo. Young and old alike will also be able to have fun solving the puzzles offered by the game. This season, the Baie de Beauport of the Port of Quebec returns with its diversified and well-established offer, which includes several classics that make this escape location a must. Accessibility for people with reduced mobility at the heart of priorities

Several new features have also been added to the layout of the site such as 100 feet of additional mats installed directly on the beach, totaling 716 feet in length and allowing easy access to the water at low tide. Parking spaces for customers with reduced mobility have also been added, not to mention the addition of accelerated entry via the exit, adapted bathrooms and a new launching ramp.

Remember that a paddle board adapted for wheelchairs is also available for rental, in addition to a seahorse chair, an all-terrain wheelchair suitable for swimming. Without forgetting the extended picnic tables, allowing people with reduced mobility to have better access to them.

Moreover, June 15ththe Bay of Beauport is organizing a day of inclusive activities, powered by the Chaudière-Appalaches Regional Leisure Association for Persons with Disabilities (ARLPH03), dedicated to customers with reduced mobility and special needs. This day open to all will highlight the inclusive programming as well as the numerous facilities put in place over the last few years on the Baie de Beauport site so that everyone can fully benefit from the experience near the river. . As planned activities: adapted paddle on the river, inclusive yoga sessions, adapted Zumba classes, workout functional and sitting volleyball.

Odyssey day camps

Once again this year, Baie de Beauport has partnered with Camps Odyssée to offer day camps to young people from the greater Quebec region. The day camp program, offered from June 24 to August 16, 2024, will allow campers aged 5 to 12 to enjoy the vacation. The Port of Quebec site will offer campers nautical activities, vast green areas for individual sports and games, water games, without forgetting the beautiful beach. Several programs are offered: sailing, yoga, multisport, ecology and environment, windsurfing, triathlon, etc. For the 2024 season, Odyssey Camps are responsible for managing youth groups when they come to the site.
