Six months of investigation by the narcotics brigade of the local judicial police service of Nice (SLPJ) culminated on Tuesday in a major raid in the republican reconquest district of Ariane, to the east of the Riviera capital. After numerous investigations aimed in particular at identifying the protagonists, the circuits and the places likely to harbor the drugs, the SLPJ, assisted by numerous personnel from the DIPN 06 and the RAID, carried out a series of arrests in the morning and searches.
In addition to the placement in police custody of thirteen people likely to be involved in the facts, some already known for acts of the same nature, the numerous searches led to the seizure of more than 42 kilos of cannabis resin, 330 grams of cocaine and 735 kilos of weed. 40,000 euros in cash were also discovered and no less than twelve weapons including a Kalashnikov submachine gun, an Uzi submachine gun and several handguns including a 9 mm caliber. Finally, a vehicle was also seized.

“Investigations continue under the direction of the specialist public action center of the Nice public prosecutor’s office within the framework of the exceptional regime for organized crime allowing police custody measures to be extended up to 96 hours”the Nice prosecutor’s office announced Wednesday afternoon in a press release.
