Press release from François Rebsamen:
I have decided to pass on my position as Mayor, to devote myself entirely to the metropolis, of which I will remain President.
In politics. There is a time to gather, a time to act and a time to transmit.
Today, when I look at the action accomplished, I consider that the time has come for me to transmit.
It is a long-considered, responsible and assumed choice, to breathe life into democracy and allow new talents to express themselves.
It is to Nathalie Koenders, my first deputy since 2015, that I would like to entrust the responsibility of now assuming the role of Mayor.

If the municipal council decides so, she will become the first female mayor of and will continue the metamorphosis of our city, ensuring the continuity of current action while bringing her own vision and sensitivity.
I would like to express immense gratitude to the people of Dijon, and to all those who, over the years and successive elections, have trusted me and, I hope, will continue to trust me on occasion. of this important decision.
I love my city, I love our metropolis, both urban and rural. I will now continue the work differently, with enthusiasm and determination, convinced of the crucial issue of ecological transition and driven by the same values of unity, solidarity and social justice which have always guided my action.
