“It’s a scandal! » Emmanuel Aze, a farmer in Villeneuve-sur-Lot, has struggled to contain his anger since he learned, Thursday, November 14, of the prefect's signing of the Declaration of Public Utility for the greenway project, carried by the Greater Villeneuvois Urban Community. A project which calls for a seizure of part of its land and that of eight of its neighbors to allow the construction of the future cycle path joining the Château de Rogé, “supposed to pass through the middle of the courtyard of my farm”, underlines the farmer.
However, since mid-October, the community of residents has been rather confident, after the conclusions of the investigation, “which wrote in black and white the prohibitive cost and the infrastructure concerns that the route currently envisaged will cause”, underlines this last. The investigating commissioner also demanded that the continuation of the route towards Penne be made official and that the natural route (on the location of the railway) be studied, under its “technical, social, economic and financial” aspects, explains Emmanuel Aze.
“Misleading elements”
Reluctance that the owners impacted by the planned route thought was sufficient for the project to receive an unfavorable opinion. “The only positive point made by the investigating commissioner is the need for a greenway, which we have never contested. As a result, we decided to be more discreet to allow the CAGV to bury the project without making noise… Which was not the case, since, through the press, three days after the conclusions of the At the public inquiry, she put forward false information about the cost of the route on the railway line, if she had to go through it. »
The collective chose to react by sending, on November 12, an open letter to the prefect, before distribution to the press “to respond directly to the arguments of the CAGV. The next day, the prefect signed the favorable opinion… As if there had been a rush to avoid making public the elements which make this decision unworthy. A schedule which provoked the ire of local residents: “We will not let go of the matter,” announces Emmanuel Aze. We will go to the administrative court. »
