It was on Sunday June 16 that the town of Julos celebrated Saint-Pierre. The mayor, Eric Abbadie, thanked Father Marian for the beautiful mass celebrated in the village church, accompanied by the songs of the choir, led by Georges Poueyto, but also Christian and David, the municipal employees, and all the team of the festival committee which organized for the occasion, a pétanque competition, a meal on Saturday evening and which prepared the aperitif.
He had a thought for Norbert Pirès, recently deceased, who served two terms as mayor in the town.
Taking stock of the work to come, he announced that work on the municipal building which will be David’s workshop, the location of which can already be seen in the parking lot near the village hall, will begin in September; at the Julos cemetery, a columbarium will be installed; a new fire reserve will be installed in Julos.
All this work is expensive (€235,000) and it could not be carried out without the help of the Agglomeration, the Department, the Region and the State, so he warmly thanked the representatives of these institutions present.
And as the weather was very nice, an aperitif was served outdoors to all those present.
