The opportunity to celebrate a busy year and to strengthen ties with families. On Wednesday, the Opteo foundation, in its Ruthenian premises of the Early Medical-Social Action Center (CAMSP) and the Sessad of the IME les Cardabelles, avenue Tarayre, organized its traditional Family Festival. An afternoon of music and color, ideal for bringing a smile to the faces of the approximately 400 children under the age of six accompanied by the structure each year.

More than 400 children supported

“This is an important moment. This is a recreational day which is important for everyone, because everyday life is not always easy”, notes Stéphanie Meilley, director of these structures installed on Avenue Tarayre. Thus, the inauguration of a fresco created by the graffiti artist Gui’home, supported in his works by the children of the Opteo foundation, was organized for the occasion. This was also financially supported by the Kiwanis of Rodez and Adapei 12 to finance this achievement. “A project that helped develop children’s creative, motor and coordination skills”specifies the structure.

Because the CAMSP plays a key role in screening for sensory, motor and mental disabilities. From the first concerns in the child’s behavior, a health professional can refer you to this device. The CAMSP will then be responsible for making a diagnosis and taking care of the disability in the best possible way. “As studies show, identifying a disorder as early as possible is essential. With the challenge of contributing to the inclusion of children in ordinary environments”, explains Stéphanie Meilley. Noble missions, celebrated during a festive afternoon.
