INFO BFMTV. Sentenced on June 20 to a fine of €5,000 for acts of “aggravated violence” against an Air France employee, the former president of Paris Pierre-Olivier Sur appealed his conviction.

The case shook the benches of the 14th criminal chamber of the Bobigny judicial court (Seine-Saint-Denis). According to information from BFMTV, the former President of Paris, Me Pierre-Olivier Sur, has decided to appeal the sentence which has just been handed down against him.

On June 20, the magistrates of the Bobigny judicial court (Seine-Saint-Denis) imposed a €5,000 fine on him for “aggravated violence” against an Air flight attendant. France. The facts date back to October 2018 at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport.

At the time, Me Pierre-Olivier Sur attacked this employee after his partner was refused the right to board a flight to Toulon. A refusal motivated by the fact that she had presented an identity document in her maiden name while she was registered on this flight under her surname as a married woman.

€1,000 in damages for the plaintiff

In addition to the fine of €5,000, the magistrates awarded the complainant €1,000 in damages for her moral injury. The latter demanded more than €25,000. Air France was also granted a symbolic “one euro”.

On the other hand, this tenor of the Paris bar was acquitted of the acts of “threats” and “intimidation” which were also accused of him.

When asked, one of the advisors of the former President of the Paris Bar Association, Me Clarisse Serre, clarified that the notion of “aggravated verbal violence was solely due to the place where the acts were committed but not at all to the facts” .

“It’s a simple anger of a passenger!”, she said.

She also indicated that her client had decided to appeal his conviction.
