Three wines per estate
Each estate offered three wines in the 2022 vintage. A choice of regional, village and premier cru appellations. The regional AOC is obligatory. Crémant, Mâcon, Beaujolais, Petit Chablis, Auxerre, Tonnerre, Chitry and Épineuil could be presented as regional appellations.
Preselection in Chorey-les-Beaune (21)
The preselection jury took place in Chorey-les-Beaune on October 22. At the end, each wine received a score. For each wine coast, the three best averages were selected. The wines of the 21 nominees were tasted on November 15 at the Ermitage de Corton by the godfather and godmother. The latter designated, following a blind tasting, the seven winners (one per wine coast).
For the Côte Chalonnaise, Rémi Dury, Domaine Jacques Dury in Rully, was awarded, to the acclamation of his fans, the Trophy for the second year in a row. Furthermore, the Knights of Tastevin brotherhood has revealed the 17 majors of Tastevinage 2024. Among them, two come from the Côte Chalonnaise. A 2022 Bouzeron from the Domaine de Villaine and a 2023 Côte Chalonnaise, white from the Cave des vignerons de Buxy. In addition, the wines of the Côte Chalonnaise participated in the 151st Festival of Great Burgundy Wines which was held at the Palais des congrès de Beaune. An AOC rully was served at lunch.
Finally, around twenty old Côte Chalonnaise appellation signs were put up for auction during an exceptional sale initiated by the Burgundy Wine Interprofessional Bureau (BIVB), a sale which took place in the City of Burgundy climates and wines in Beaune. Not all of them found buyers due to some being of average quality or not being of interest to potential buyers.
