The body of young Sihem Belouahmia, 18, was found on the night of Wednesday February 1 to Thursday February 2, 2023, in a wood located between Salles-du-Gardon and La Grand-Combe, in Gard. More than 18 months after his death, a reconstitution is organized this Monday.

The forty-year-old was indicted for the murder of Sihem and was placed in pre-trial detention. He admitted his crime.
A version that does not convince
As a reminder, on the night of Wednesday January 25 to Thursday January 26, 2023, Sihem left his grandmother's home shortly before midnight, in the Habitarelle district, in Salles-du-Gardon, and cut off his phone after a last video exchange with a friend. His family raised the alarm the next day, and on Saturday, the gendarmerie launched a call for witnesses: the affair went viral on social networks, where rumors and fake news jostled.
On Sunday, the Alès public prosecutor's office opened an investigation into kidnapping and disappearance, while members of Sihem's family focused their suspicions on Mafhoud Hansali, a convict to whom his wife's young daughter, a cousin of his wife, seemed very close. .
According to the latter's statements, he had been having a clandestine romantic relationship for several months with the final year student in the professional baccalaureate at the Jean-Baptiste Dumas high school in Alès. The latter allegedly made a scene for him in his car, demanding that he reveal their affair in broad daylight. To silence her, he allegedly suffocated her, before carrying her body into the woods.
But the family of the young guard does not believe this version. “All this is based exclusively on her statements, and she is no longer here to give her version”said a relative.
