Polish striker Robert Lewandowski recently issued a warning to French international Kylian Mbappé over the challenges of wearing a protective mask.

Mbappé, aged 25, with 80 caps and 47 goals to his name, was hit in the nose but could still be fielded in the next match against Poland, scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The star striker of the French team would have to wear a protective mask to be able to play. Lewandowski, having already played with a mask himself, shared his experience:

“When I had to wear a mask, it wasn’t nice. It’s quite annoying, especially in the penalty area, it was complicated. I couldn’t see well, my field of vision was diminished. It’s a few thousandths of a second but it can slow down a player,” he explained to journalists.

This warning from Lewandowski highlights the challenges Mbappé could face, especially in crucial moments when every fraction of a second counts. Wearing a mask could impact Mbappé’s performance, particularly in fast-paced situations and in the penalty area.

As France prepares to face Poland, eyes will be on Mbappé’s performance and how he adapts to this new constraint.
