Between international stars and discoveries, twenty-eight artists with unbridled imagination share the rooms of the Gaya Scienza, a young, dynamic venue that brings a breath of fresh air to the Côte d’Azur.

Both incipit and (campaign?) slogan, the injunction slams, hung in the entrance hall: “We must confront vague ideas with clear images.” Work signed Séverine Hubard and David Legrand, it is originally an extract of dialogue from the Chineseby Jean-Luc Godard, which here serves as an opening key to once again opening the door to Gaya Scienza, this exciting “space of artistic and poetic exploration”, sprouted in Nice, on the ground floor of an opulent building of which one should not deprive oneself of visiting all the rooms, as they contain an inventiveness that is all the more open to curiosity as entry is free.

So, around ten rooms further on, we remain stunned – since we are both touched and enchanted – in front of Paper Airplane Making Machine which, as its title indicates, has no other function than that of mechanically folding these flying objects which, crossing generations, are the eternal joy of schoolchildren. An eccentric feat from Fabrice Cotinat who, given the incredible assembly of parts, obviously had to devour hundreds of hours to develop a prototype whose exclusive use would therefore lead to the same result as that produced in a few seconds by a simple pair of hands!
