This village of less than 80 inhabitants has nothing but two associations dedicated to its animation

Outside Marnézia is a peaceful little village in the Jura, bringing together less than 80 souls. Looking closer it is a community full of lifepropelled by the boundless energy of two associations dedicated to its animation.

On one side there are Amis de la Roche Paganan association founded on February 15, 1985, which has given itself the mission of bring together the inhabitants of the village.

70 inhabitants, including around ten children

Village that counts today 70 people, including around ten children present all year round or during the holidays with the grandparents. For nearly 40 years, the association has enlivened local life by offering moments of sharing, entertainment and friendly exchanges.

“The association has always had two main festivals: the fire of Saint-Jean and the festival of August 15 at the grotto”, explains the president Marina Richeme .

“The association had run out of steam a little in recent years but with a few people from the village we mobilized to, initially, not lose what our elders had created, and above all restart the animations, even if they are modest.It is important to continue to create linksespecially nowadays when we are always on our cell phones.”

Create a connection with simple things

In this spirit of bringing residents together by offering simple activities, Les Amis de la Roche Pagan, for example, proposed a afternoon board game with Oika Oika, Sunday November 10, 2024.

And the end of the year will be very busy with no less than three events between now and Christmas : the Beaujolais Nouveau festival on Friday November 22, 2024 from 7:30 p.m., a Christmas decoration making workshop for the village on Saturday November 30, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. andelection for the most beautiful Christmas house by children, Friday December 20, 2024 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

And all these activities will obviously continue in 2025, notably with a pizza eveningin February, a treasure hunt for Easter and the two emblematic festivals of the association.

The Retromobile is growing

Among its numerous events, given the size of the village, are those proposed by the association Les 100 culasses. More recent but not to be outdone, the association is particularly known for its Rétromobile, an event around old vehicles which attracts more and more people each year.

“We firstly grouped around our passion for old vehiclesin order to propose a gathering in our village”, says Christmas David the president of the association.

“Our primary objective being to bring life to the village, we have gradually diversified into the activities by offering, for example, this year our first flea marketwhich worked very well. We try to be complementarywith Les Amis de la Roche Pagan, and to do different events to please everyone.”

The association is currently preparing children's Christmaswhich will be organized on Saturday December 14, 2024 at the town hall.
