The major solidarity toy collection “Laisse Parler ton Cœur” celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2024. Organized throughout France, previous editions have collected more than 18,650 toy baskets, the equivalent of 292 tonnes of games and toys.
SITOM Sud Gard, SMICTOM Rhône Garrigues and Sud Rhône Environnement are joining forces with ecosystem and Ecomaison to organize a large collection of second-hand toys throughout the country. From November 16 to December 8, 42 collection points will be made available to residents, so that they can drop off all their unused toys, with a view to their reuse or, failing that, their recycling. This operation, which has become an annual event, allows young and old alike to make a supportive and virtuous gesture for the environment, on the occasion of European Waste Reduction Week.
All toys unused in French homes are accepted, whether they are electric, electronic, wooden, construction, society, or fabric. Without forgetting disguises, puzzles and even dolls which are also welcome as part of the collection. These donations will be entrusted to four local associations: Emmaüs Arles and Vaucluse-Courthézon, HumaNîmes and Secours Populaire du Gard; to then be sorted, tested, completed, cleaned and refurbished, with a view to being offered to low-income families or resold at solidarity prices, as the end-of-year holidays approach.
