Heavy smoke covers the Carolomacerian sky this Friday, November 15, 2024. The cause is the numerous tires burned in front of the doors of the Walor factory in Bogny-sur-Meuse. The employees, dissatisfied, continue their actions.
For several weeks, factory employees have been on strike. The reason for their anger? The support measures for employees do not satisfy them. However, this Thursday, November 14, 2024, a meeting was held at Mézières town hall between the unions and Walor management but no agreement could be found.
Today, negotiations continue in a fairly tense climate. Around 2 p.m., a truck brought back many used tires. Part of it is burning in front of the factory. Crosses and banners are also placed in front of the company gates.
Anger that lasts
79 crosses had already been planted this Wednesday. A symbol which represents the 79 future licensees of the two sites, Bogny-sur-Meuse and Vouziers.
The tone was already raised this Tuesday, November 12 at the end of the first negotiations. “Management is offering €2,500 of supra-legal bonus and €1,500 of support to dismissed employees, very far from our demands”explained Fabien Pinçon, CGT union delegate from Walor Bogny to our daily newspaper.
