The Department invests to support quality health care and cutting-edge surgery. To do this, he participated in the purchase of three latest generation surgical robots. The health establishments of the Yvelines Nord territory hospital group now benefit from a Da Vinci three hospitals in Poissy-Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Mantes-la-Jolie and Meulan-Les Mureaux.
The robot assigned to three specialties
Installed in the Poissy operating theater in a dedicated room and equipped with a complete robotic environment, it is assigned to three specialties: visceral surgery, gynecology or diseases of the ear, nose and mouth (ENT). It has several manipulator arms and the surgeon controls the impressive machine remotely from a console and a 3D screen.
During the inauguration, Pierre Bédier spoke with the doctors. “Using the device is very pleasant,” explained one of them. There is a gain in the quality of the gesture. For us it’s an essential plus.”

More precise interventions
This surgical robot represents a lever of attractiveness for health professionals but also a better health offer for patients. The interventions are more precise and less invasive. In addition the post-operative pain is reduced. “The duration of hospitalization is reduced and recovery is improved after the intervention,” explains a doctor.
The purchase of the device benefited from financial support from the Department to the tune of €1.9 million while the overall cost of the operation reached nearly €3 million. The departmental council helped finance three robots. In addition to the one in Poissy, two others were deployed at the Mignot hospital in Chesnay and the private hospital in western Paris in Trappes.
The surgical robot has been in service since March 2024. CD78
