Two men were shot dead Thursday evening in a bar in a northern district of Marseille, as the shooter fled. An investigation was entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS). Here is what we know about the shooting this Friday, November 15, 2024.
A suspect with a handgun
Around 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening, a hooded man opened fire on two men who were in a bar on rue de la Carrière, in the 14th arrondissement of the city.
“The shooter, armed with a handgun, entered the bar and coldly fired before fleeing,” a source close to the matter told Provence .
The suspect fled and has not yet been found by the police. A car, probably used by the shooter, was found in flames shortly after the incident in a street in the Félix-Pyat city, in the 3rd arrondissement of Marseille.

Two dead and one injured
Three men were hit by the shots. Two victims died at the scene and could not be resuscitated by the firefighters who arrived on scene. Aged 28, they were known for cases linked to drug trafficking, according to sources close to the investigation cited by theAFP.
A third man aged 21 was shot in the thigh, according to information from Provence confirmed by BFM Marseille Provence . He presented himself an hour later at the emergency room of the northern hospital.
Linked to drug trafficking
The prosecution confirmed BFMTV that these facts are linked to drug trafficking. These are the 20th and 21st narchomicides in Marseille in 2024.
At the beginning of October, a teenager was stabbed around fifty times before being burned alive, and a 36-year-old VTC driver was killed, leading the Marseille prosecutor to denounce “unprecedented savagery”.
