A not ordinary disappearance. On his Facebook page, Soil Nutritiona breeding of Irish Cob horses located at Val-Couesnonnorthwest of Fougères (Ille-et-Vilaine)published this post Thursday, November 14: “Miss Tir Na Og disappeared this morning in the Val-Couesnon 35 sector. She is no longer in the field with the herd and in particular no longer with her filly.”

A message relayed and shared by hundreds of people, including Emmanuel Houdus, the mayor of the town.

“It’s a theft, that’s for sure.”

The animal was noticed missing around 8:10 a.m. Thursday, November 14.

The night before, around 10 p.m., I saw all the mares in the field. In the morning, when I went to visit them, I noticed that one was missing.

He therefore reports the disappearance on the social networks and sets out to research. “We looked at every corner of the different valleys around the house, but nothing,” continues Patrice Angot, who then thinks of a vol: “I’m sure of it now.”

In his eyes, several elements support this thesis. First of all, the fence . “The two electrical wires were shortened and one of the two ribbons was relaxed. I didn't pay much attention to it at the time, thinking it was caused by a wild boar. »

But at this point a hiking path passes which leads to two perpendicular roads. Less than 300 meters from the enclosure, Patrice Angot discovered “traces of the wheels of a heavy vehicle”.

Above all, the breeder specifies that his mare had miss bassrecently: “Even if she had gotten scared and forced the fence, she would have stayed close to her filly. She would never have left.”

Anger and stress

Why steal such an animal? Money, obviously. With pretty dewlaps (hair on the hooves) and a beautiful mane, Miss Tir Na Og is a purebred mare worth a few thousand euros. Even if she is chipped. “They can find a way to remove it,” growls Patrice Angot, “angry” and “stressed”: “We tell ourselves that we live in the countryside, in a little corner of paradise, near Couesnon and we realizes that we are not at peace. For him, “there must have been scouting before acting. »

In addition to the gendarmerie, Patrice Angot reported the facts to the Group for the Search for Stolen Equipment.
