This Friday, November 15, in the morning, the company Laminoirs des Landes, based in Tarnos and a steel specialist, had to evacuate its staff following a liquid O2 leak in a pipe connected to a storage tank. For security reasons, around fifty people were evacuated places.

Leak repaired

According to our information, the leak was plugged and repaired around 12:30 p.m. A team specializing in chemical and biological risk from firefighters went to the site.

As a precaution, the road to access the factory was completely cut off to traffic. Around thirty firefighters from Landes and Pyrénées-Atlantiques are still on the scene.

Danger of liquid O2

Inhalation of liquid O2 can cause nausea, dizziness, difficulty breathing and convulsions. It can be dispersed depending on the wind.
