Cinema will return to villages in 2025 with a little something extra
Bringing cinema to the villages. A laudable goal, not so easy to implement.
During this year 2024, the Ciné en ballade association (which had managed cinema screenings in the villages for more than 20 years) stopped its activity. She found herself in default of payment.
Good news, the Ciné Pop structure will little by little take over. The latter, with the same team as Ciné en ballade, is supported by the Region, the Department and the Drac (regional directorate of cultural affairs). It will also operate in Aisne. Around thirty municipalities have already requested the structure to resume cinema screenings.
The new association offers in particular 10 films per month to choose from, including 5 arthouse films, two thematic films (for example women's rights, environment etc.), a so-called classic film. A film in original version should be offered each quarter. Debates could also be held.
This is good news for moviegoers who, since last summer, have had to travel more and more miles to get to a movie theater. The screenings will therefore return to the villages at affordable prices and with the objective of sharing a good film with your neighbor.
