If the Devils missed their start in this Euro, by losing to Slovakia, the enthusiasm for the second group match, against Romania, is indeed present. But supporters who do not yet have their place for this meeting in Cologne will have to put their hands in their wallets. Strong demand is indeed driving up prices. For the cheapest ticket, you have to pay no less than 500 euros. The best seats cost more than €2,500 (Prime Seats).

Scams are also numerous. Each country in fact received 10,000 places per match for the group stages. These tickets were sold to fans, with the remainder sold via the UEFA website as “neutral” seats. “Please be aware that unauthorized ticket sellers have decided to exploit the high demand by offering fraudulent tickets on the secondary market,” warns UEFA on its website. There are no longer any tickets available for Belgium-Romania on the UEFA portal. Only a few places for Ukraine-Belgium are still offered at €400.µ

Kaspersky experts have also discovered numerous scams designed to steal users’ data and money, all disguised as UEFA 2024-related offers. Experts have also discovered fraudulent online stores selling fan accessories : uniforms, scarves, caps etc, with a 40% reduction. Those who were fooled, as usual with this type of scam, never received the tickets and items purchased.

”These schemes around major events follow the same pattern: fraudsters simply change their lure based on current trends. However, they should not be underestimated, they are constantly adapting and finding new ways to make a profit. For example, our recent discovery of cryptocurrency scams linked to popular players shows their ability to exploit emerging opportunities”comments Olga Svistunova, security expert at Kaspersky.
