Heating plumber, Bruno Pinel passes the torch to Fabien Bouteloup

Holder of a BEP of heating plumber, thermal maintenance agent, Bruno Pinel began his career as an employee in Caen (Calvados), where he is from.

“I arrived in the sector in 1998, I was 34 then,” he remembers.

I first worked in Bagnoles as a salaried plumber and heating engineer, and it was in 2002 that I became self-employed in Juvigny, and since 2005, in Couterne, route d'Alençon where my workshop is at home.

For more than 20 years, Bruno Pinel has built up a clientele within a 20 km radius, working six days a week.

“I was doing troubleshooting, repair, but also heating installation, the creation of bathrooms in conjunction with different suppliers. I had an advisory role. I did installation and provided after-sales service. I had rather good interpersonal skills.”

At 60 years old, married and father of two children, the craftsman will exercise his retirement rights on November 30, 2024.

“I will have more time to visit my 29-year-old son who is in Belgium, and my 24-year-old daughter in Canada. I will also be able to go for motorcycle rides.”

On November 16, 2024, he organizes a going-away party for his clients where he expects 200 people.

“The same way of working”

Concerned “not to leave my clientele without a successor”, and “given the potential and needs in the sector”, Bruno Pinel began research several months ago.

I wanted to find someone who has the same way of working as me and shares the same values.

And it was through Bertrand, a salesman, that the meeting was made with Fabien Bouteloup46 years old, who manages a company with his brother Jérôme in Ravigny in Mayenne.

“It is a family business, with nine employees, which was created by my father in 1995. The primary activity was the delivery of fuels, then were added the installation and maintenance of oil-fired boilers or wood stoves, but also a plumbing, heating and electricity service.

Holder of a BTS management assistant, Fabien Bouteloup first took care of the company's accounting in its early days, “then in the 2000s, I returned to school to train in other professions “.

From 1^is December 2024, the Bouteloup company will therefore be the new contact for Bruno Pinel's customers.
