The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women will take place on November 25. Actions are organized to raise awareness and inform the public about the issue of violence against women.
November 25 was chosen in 1999 by the United Nations as a day of mobilization against all forms of violence against women.
No environment, no territory, no generation is spared. Women are the main victims of violent deaths within couples with 94 victims in 2020 (none in Moselle). There were 118 in 2022 (3 in Moselle).
The fight against violence against women, including domestic violence, is a priority for the State in Moselle.
The national roadmap to combat gender-based and sexual violence comes from the Grenelle commitments against domestic violence in 2019. Continuing its proactive policy in the fight against violence against women, the government has made this issue the first axis of the interministerial plan for equality between women and men “all equal” (2023-2027).
State priorities in Moselle:
- The mobilization of internal security forces;
- Keeping victims safe, via social workers in police stations and gendarmes (ISCG);
- Reception and support for victims;
