A practice flight between Mont-de-Marsan and Clermont-Ferrand

According to the army, the hunter was in exercise flight scheduled between Mont-de-Marsan air base no. 118 in Landes, and Clermont-Ferrand, in Puy-de-Dôme. Fighter jets choose to pass the sound barrier over sparsely populated areas. They mainly practice at sea, but must also practice passing it over land.
