  • Duration: variable depending on the journeys
  • Downtown, Old Port and Pointe-aux-Trembles
  • Friday and Saturday evenings, from 9:15 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Inaugurated in 2016 for the 375th celebrationse anniversary of Montreal, Memory City continues to shine every Friday and Saturday evening. As soon as the sun goes down, parts of the city’s history and notable characters come to life on walls and public spaces, such as baseball legend Jackie Robinson (408, rue Saint-François-Xavier) or the fire at the Montreal parliament in 1849 (Vinci Park parking lot at Place D’Youville). Nocturnal urban tours have been offered in the city center, in Old Montreal, and in the Pointe-aux-Trembles district since 2022. If you are passing through the Charlevoix region, you can also admire works retracing 500 years of local history, including that of log driving.

To find out the location of the works and have access to audio or augmented reality tracks, you can download the application Memory City. And if you are curious to learn more about the genesis and realization of this captivating, internationally recognized project, the documentary At the heart of Cité Mémoire is offered on the Vrai platform.
