The sky this Thursday morning is generally bright. A few clouds circulate between Saint-Philippe and Saint-André. This afternoon, the weather looks much cloudier. Light showers are expected inland and along the slopes. A large northern half will be affected. Temperatures remain high for the season.

As since the start of the week, this morning, Thursday November 14, 2024, is sunny. A few light showers and clouds in the East and South-East at daybreak. In other areas, the sun is omnipresent and temperatures rise very quickly.

Unsurprisingly, at the beginning of the afternoon, relatively dense cloud cover settled inland and along the slopes. Météo- La Réunion writes: “Small showers without large accumulations are mainly expected in the Hauts and will then eventually reach the coast, particularly in the large northern half.” The sun will hold out on the summits and in the Cilaos cirque.

The East-Southeast flow is relatively weak. A regime of breezes reigns over the department throughout the day. It strengthens slightly at the start of the night.

Maximum temperatures are already summer. Forecasters expect 27 to 29°C on the coast. The thermometer will rise to 30°C on the Port side and 31 at the edge of the Saint-Gilles-les-Bains lagoon. The mercury is also rising at the volcano, like at Maïdo where 20°C is expected.

The sea is generally rough. Two small swells, one from the South-South-West, the other from the East, break along the West and East coasts respectively and cross each other along the South-South-East coast.
