A few steps from the Opera, at Passage Choiseul, the Salon Idées Japon invites lovers of Japanese culture to explore original and authentic creations, imagined by more than 40 Franco-Japanese creators and artisans. Organized by the Jipango association, this atypical Christmas market takes place on 300 m² and offers visitors a complete immersion in the Japanese art of living.

The Salon Idées Japon offers an incredible variety of objects and creations inspired by Japanese culture, perfect for original gift ideas. From the calligraphy to traditional dollspassing through the handcrafted jewelryTHE kimonos for children and the decorative objects made of paper, this show allows you to discover the excellence of Japanese craftsmanship.
Food stalls also offer a taste of Japanese flavors: pastries delicate, thé, sake, spices et pottery are in the spotlight, thus offering a complete palette for those who wish to please or treat themselves.

In addition to the exhibition-sale, the show offers Japanese creative workshops accessible to all, but upon prior registration (paying). These workshops allow participants to delve into traditional techniques, under the guidance of recognized specialists:
- Tenkoku : engraving of Japanese seals, an age-old art presented by Miki Kubo.
- Origami : art of paper folding, with Audrey Frénois.
- Ikebana : Japanese floral arrangement by Yuko Durand, to learn how to compose arrangements according to Japanese traditions.
- Manga drawing : manga workshop for drawing enthusiasts, led by Sana & Shizuka.
- Sumi-e : painting with Indian ink, workshop led by Liliane Borodine.
- Kokedama : a Japanese plant decoration technique proposed by Adrien Bénard.
- Tsumamizaiku : a crafting technique for creating accessories, by Naoko Noguchi.
- Broderie Kogin-Zashi et Kumihimo : traditional embroidery and braiding techniques, with Akiyo Kajiwara.
- fabric snake : an original workshop led by Kaoru Diop to learn how to create decorative fabric objects.
- Cloth bag : sewing workshop led by Junko Fukuda.
- Cooking around koji : a culinary workshop with Hervé Durand, who explores the uses of koji, an essential ferment in Japanese gastronomy.
