It was nine years ago, but the memories of the November 13 attacks are still vivid. Ceremonies are taking place this Wednesday in Paris at the scene of the Islamist terrorist attacks during which 130 people died, in front of the Stade de France, in the Bataclan hall and in bars and restaurants of the 20th and 21ste “La Belle team” and “Le Carillon” district. This year, however, 133 victims' names will be announced, three survivors having since killed themselves. The last one dates from last May, with the suicide of the designer Fred Dewilde, who was at the Bataclan during the attacks of November 13, 2015.

“Triumph”
At the end of the morning, a tribute was paid in a sometimes heavy silence where only the names of the victims were heard in the audience. The tribute took place in the presence of Prime Minister Michel Barnier, the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, but also survivors, such as Arthur Dénouveaux, president of the “Life for Paris” association.
“We are entering the tenth year of our life after November 13”declared Arthur Dénouveaux in a speech. “Trust us to make them live in our hearts and in our actions, » he addressed, while welcoming the support and solidarity expressed on a daily basis, particularly between survivors. “We have been through these nine years together and our bond is stronger than ever. No one can promise us that we must have confidence in the future, but I can promise you that we collectively have the capacity to triumph over it.”.
The music group which played at the Bataclan on the evening of the attack, Eagles of Death Metal, also published a message of love on the social network X in tribute to the commemorations.

“Cédric, Djamila, Raphaël, Marion, Luis, Nathalie, Ludovic, Suzon… So many first names, faces, lives shattered by Islamist terrorism on November 13, 2015”also wrote the former president in office at the time of the attacks, François Hollande, on. “I think of them today and of all the families who live every day with the pain of their absence. I also think of the survivors, whose wounds, sometimes invisible, do not heal. We are with them”.

On November 13, 2015, a series of shootings and suicide attacks were carried out by three separate commandos. The first targeted the Stade de France in Seine-Saint-Denis, where a friendly match of the French football team was taking place and attended by President François Hollande. Another commando then attacked bars and restaurants in the XXe and 21e districts of Paris, notably “La Belle Équipe” and “Carillon”. Another longer attack targeted the Bataclan concert hall, where more than a thousand people were attending a metal concert. The attackers opened fire, killing 90 people and taking survivors hostage before the police intervened and killed the terrorists.
