An Avrillais man sentenced for embezzlement of checks intended for his employer in Guyana

This time, it is French law and not customary law as argued by his lawyer Cyrille Duvert, who applied. A 38-year-old Guyanese, originally from the Bushinengué Amerindian minority, appeared this Wednesday, November 13 before the Criminal Court, prosecuted in particular for breach of trust and fraud. Facts which date back almost ten years, when he was an employee of the sheet metal manufacturer Profil Guyane.

“I slipped”

From January to October 2015, the thirty-year-old embezzled checks from several clients intended for his employer, for damage estimated between 10,000 and 12,000 euros according to the prosecution. Back then I slipped admits at the bar the defendant now residing in Avrillé, also suspected of having falsified a quote. A troubled file, according to the president, who don't read crystal balls and did not hesitate to mention a cosmetically perfectible procedure .

Released for fraud, the defendant was sentenced to four months in prison with a simple suspended sentence for breach of trust.
