This Monday, on the A63 motorway, in the Landes department, customs agents made an impressive seizure by intercepting a vehicle transporting 10 kg of GHB as well as 100 grams of ketamine.
The driver, a young man of Bolivian nationality aged 25, was arrested on the spot. He will be tried in immediate appearance this Thursday at the Dax court, as indicated by our colleagues from the France Bleu site.
The man is suspected of being a “mule”
Arrested near Magescq, the man indicated that he had left the Netherlands to reach Spain. According to authorities, it is likely that he is a “mule”, that is to say a person who was paid to transport the drugs from one point to another. As indicated by the Dax public prosecutor's office, this seizure of ten kilos of GHB is absolutely exceptional.
GHB is a psychoactive substance famous for its misuse in criminal contexts. It is often called the “rapist drug” because of its use in assaults. GHB acts quickly to render the victim inert and vulnerable, thus facilitating acts of abuse. Most of the time, it is found in the form of a white powder sold in a vial.
