After training on Tuesday which saw 3 players spared, then the announcement by William Servat of the withdrawal of Uini Atonio, the XV of France carried out their training at high intensity, 3 days before the clash against the All Blacks at the Stade de France (Saturday, 9 p.m.). Now, we have a little more certainty regarding the composition probable.
Dupont and Flament well present
Slightly unwell the day before, number 9 and captain Antoine Dupont trained normally this Wednesday. He will be present for the second match of the Blues in this fall 2024 tour. Dupont will form the hinge with Thomas Ramos. We also saw him help out in No. 10 on certain sequences.
Affected by the ribs and left before half-time during the victory against Japan (52-12), second row Thibaud Flament took part in the session, and should indeed hold his place against the All Blacks, to form teaming up with his teammate and colossus Emmanuel Meafou.
With the loss of François Cros, victim of a concussion, it is the Rochelais Paul Boudehent who will join the starting XV. The 3e line made a strong impression when it came into play against Japan, offering itself its first two tries in Blue.
Fickou, Villière and Buros lined up behind
Within the 3/4 line, Fabien Galthié confirmed during training this Wednesday that he had reviewed his plans. The captain Gaël Fickou (91 caps) will be lined up alongside Yoram Moefana, and therefore at the expense of Palois Émilien Gailleton. At the back, Romain Buros (0 selection) holds the rope compared to Léo Barré: it was he who wore the holders' chasuble flocked with No. 15 this Wednesday.
With the withdrawals of Penaud (illness) and Attissogbe (knee), Gabin Villière will start on one wing. The Toulonnais has not been capped since the World Cup group match against Uruguay on September 14, 2023.
XV of France: the probable line-up against the All Blacks
Le XV de départ : Buros ; Villière, Fickou, Moefana, Bielle-Biarrey ; (o) Ramos, (m) Dupont (cap) ; Roumat, Alldritt, Boudehent ; Meafou, Flament ; Tatafu, Mauvaka, Gros.
Finishers: Marchand, Wardi, Colombe, R. Taofifenua, Guillard, Ollivon, Le Garrec, Gailleton.
A 6-2 bench, with Ollivon
Having opted for a substitute bench of 5 forwards and 3 backs against Japan, Galthié and his staff should turn to the 6-2 option against the All Blacks. In this game, Romain Taofifenua and Charles Ollivon return to play, they who were absent against Japan.
Fabien Galthié will unveil the official composition of the French XV against the All Blacks this Thursday at 11 a.m.
