Farmers gathered in front of the Haute-Marne prefecture in Chaumont this Wednesday, November 13 to demonstrate. At the heart of the demands, three main points: “the implementation of short-term measures to compensate for the harvest which was not good, the simplification of Franco-French standards at the national level, and avoid a budget reduction on the CAP (common agricultural policy)”summarizes Frédéric Van Westeinde, director of the national federation of agricultural farmers' unions of Haute-Marne. The fear of seeing the signature of Mercosur confirmed, “which scares all sectors” is also at the heart of the debates.
The farmers brought more than 200 town entry or exit signs.
