Monday November 11, 2024the events in the different categories followed one another to the great satisfaction of the spectators gathered around the course during the Montilly sports nature festival, in Montilly-sur-Noireau (Orne).
Victory for Pierre Lenoir
The Montilly sports nature festival welcomed a field filled with runners on his circuit. The races continued in the middle of the day before the most competitive event at 2:40 p.m., the long cross, which brought together the seniors, juniors and cadets.
After 9,200 meters of racing, the Domfrontais Pierre Lenoir, licensed at the Caen Athletic Club, wins in 29'45alone ahead of the Kenyan David Cheserek in 30'05 and Grégoire Schveitzer in 30'13, also licensed at Caen Athletic Club.
Victorious local runners
For the Norman, who started at Flers Athlétisme, it is a great satisfaction to win this legendary test. “It started off quite strong, we found ourselves with Grégoire and two foreign runners, and I managed to start in front,” rejoices the young runner at the end of his race.
Among the women, the region was again well represented with the victory of the young Manon Miserettefrom USM Vire, who won on the 4,250 m circuit.
Cani-cross
The adult cani-cross event was won by Philippe Fournis and his dog Siliak. The competitor had just been “sacred world champion in the discipline in the veteran category 2, in Italy, in Bardonnechia”.
His faithful companion of three years is a European Sled Dog (from a cross between an Alaskan Husky and a Pointer).
This little-known discipline, based on the complicity of this duoprioritizes animal welfare: “it’s the main thing, we never pull it, it must always be in front of the runner. If the dog stops, and no longer wants to move forward, the race is over.”
