The firefighters intervened for a agricultural building fire in the south of Gers Tuesday November 12, 2024 in the early evening. Thousands of chicks are dead.
The facts occurred at Bézues-Bajon at a place called Caumont, near Masseube.
Totally on fire
The building engulfed in flames, in wood (and sandwich panels for its roof), was 400 m² and it was completely engulfed in flames, explains the Gers departmental fire and rescue service (Sdis 32). Another problem, the presence of a gas tank nearby… Which had a leak.
The escape was quickly stopped by firefighters, who extinguished the fire using two hoses.
Despite the large resources involved (25 firefighters), 4,000 chicks of the 5,000 who were in the premises, however, could not be saved.
