Reinforcements from Toulouse and Foix

Until the end of November, several similar operations will be organized every week. This Tuesday, the Appamean police officers could count on the presence of 14 police officers from Toulouse, as well as colleagues from Foix. The latter have already been present in Pamiers for several weeks to participate in Place Nette operations. From December, the police station should benefit from the arrival of an additional police officer.

“There are around twenty staff currently present on this security operation, both in the city center and at the station,” assures Commissioner Laurent Garceau, of DDPN 09. “These operations are also made possible thanks to to judicial requisitions issued by the public prosecutor.”

Also present for the occasion, Frédérique Thiennot, mayor of Pamiers, said she was satisfied with these reinforcements. “Pamiers is experiencing the same problems as other cities of more or less similar size. The city is increasing initiatives to strengthen security on its streets. We have installed new cameras and revised all existing systems.”

Saturday November 9, Delphine Lemaire, chief of staff of the prefect of Ariège, was already in Pamiers with Frédérique Thiennot to meet and listen to the concerns of traders.
