As the skippers of the famous round-the-world sailing race set off on Sunday November 10, the extreme challenges of the competition are already getting tougher for some competitors.
Although they have prepared, they know that many moments will be difficult, for at least two and a half months at sea (for the fastest), the Vendée Globe always represents a considerable shock for the participants.

The famous round-the-world sailing race kicked off barely 48 hours ago (Sunday November 10), and already the first adventures are appearing for certain competitors. This is the case for Eric Bellion. The night from Monday 11 to Tuesday 12 was chaotic.
“Friends, what a s*** night,” the helmsman of the Imoca “Stand as one” testifies in a video. “I don’t know where to start anymore, I hurt everywhere and I’ve been fighting for hours.”

The Fracilian sailor was in fact the victim of two consecutive blockages of the mainsail. “I found myself with the mainsail and the gennaker loose (a combination of two types of sails used depending on the intensity of the wind, Editor's note) with very strong waves and wind.”
After several hours of effort, Eric Bellion finally escaped, exhausted. “I didn't think I was going to make it, I left feathers. I hope you sleep well under your little quilts.”
