VO2max has opened registrations for the traditional Corrida. It will take place on December 14 with several races on the program.
From article 2 of the internal regulations of the races organized on December 14 in Tarascon by VO2max, the color is announced: “The races are walking events in the streets and near Tarascon-sur-Ariège… Running in disguise is strongly recommended but not obligatory.
Faithful to its roots, to its DNA, the trail association combines sport, conviviality and atmosphere at each of its events. This will be the case for the now traditional “Corrida de Tarascon”, on December 14, starting from the Old Town, Place des Consuls.
It's the youngest, born in 2023, “The 500 that stings”, which will open the ball at 3 p.m. Open, like the bullfight that will follow, to categories from cadets to masters, it will see participants climb 1.9 km for a difference in altitude of more than 520 meters!
At 3:10 p.m., when the first trail runners will see the Saving Pike appear, it is the children's races, not timed, for which registrations are free and parental authorization is required, which will start. A well-deserved snack will be offered to all participants upon arrival.
La Corrida, 9.5 km individual or team
At 5:30 p.m., time for the queen of the day, “La Corrida”. Individually, over 9.5 km this year, or in teams of three (1st relay of 3.86 km, 2nd of 2.87 km and 3rd of 2.87 km), she will lead the runners through the historic streets of Tarascon -sur-Ariège, the first loop inviting them to greet the one who watches over the gateway city of Haute-Ariège, Castella.
Registrations are open for all events. As the number of bibs is limited, it is strongly recommended to register now. The terms, regulations and all the necessary information are online at vo2max09.fr. This 11th edition is designed to allow everyone to participate. As proof, the new team formula with “reasonable” distances promises, as always with VO2max, a great party.
After the efforts on the asphalt and the trails, the comfort with the onion soup of Gilles, faithful to the post, will launch the trail runners' evening, which will begin with the awards ceremony near the Halle aux Pommes de Terre.
