The national secretary of the Ecologists Marine Tondelier denounced this Tuesday morning sexist remarks reported by the press and attributed to a close friend of François Hollande.
Quoted in an article in “Libération”, this anonymous source declares that “Tondelier does the job for LFI, she has a green jacket but her underwear is red”.
The entire New Popular Front denounces this attack.
A long message published on X to respond to several attacks. This Tuesday morning, the national secretary of the Ecologists Marine Tondelier denounced formal remarks on the social network “questionable and sexist”with which she fundamentally disagrees, “which makes no sense”. Before her, many figures from the New Popular Front (NFP) had also denounced this quote from an article by Liberationattributed anonymously to a “Dutch”or support from the former President of the Republic François Hollande. This source estimates that “Tondelier does the job for LFI, she has a green jacket but her underwear is red”.
“I am the only female party leader. I see some green and some unripe ones. But this kind of talk, in 2024, within the NFP, I didn’t think it was still possible”reacts the municipal councilor of Hénin-Beaumont, therefore denouncing sexist comments. But she also explains at length that “the substance of the statement makes no sense”. “The Ecologists are Ecologists. They are determined neither in relation to rebellious France, nor in relation to the Socialist Party. They are determined in relation to Ecology and I will remind you of this as much as necessary”. She assures that her party does not “'the job at the service of LFI'”and is also not a party “'in the service of François Hollande'”.
“No such thing in the Socialist Party,” warns Faure
The first secretary of the Socialist Party Olivier Faure also denounced “these completely inappropriate comments” and wanted to apologize to her colleague. “The courageous anonymous person will be able to find his place in the Pantheon of sexism. Not that in the Socialist Party which is a party which has made feminism its fight”he added. Let us recall that Olivier Faure is in conflict with the former President of the Republic over the line to be adopted by the PS vis-à-vis LFI and the NFP, the first being in favor of the alliance with the Mélenchonists or the ecologists, when the second – with his supporters – opposes it and regularly criticizes it.
