Saturday November 9, 2024, at 16 h 15has Guichen (Ille-et-Vilaine), a man was the victim of electric shock while doing pruning work in his garden. His vital prognosis is in jeopardy.

Ille-et-Vilaine: a discharge of 30,000 volts

In the afternoon of Saturday November 9, 2024at 4:15 p.m., a man accompanied by a friend was doing pruning work in a basket, high up in his garden.

Having approached too close to the power line and cutting it without seeing it in the branches, he received a discharge of 30,000 volts.

The gendarmes as well as six fire engines from the SDIS 35 intervened to help the victim, who was quickly transported to hospital and whose vital prognosis is engaged.

A 3 hour intervention

Following the accident, electricity was cut off for around thirty people in the town of Guichen (Ille-et-Vilaine).

The duration of restoration of the power line lasted about three hours.
