During the first day of the trial of the missing people from Nérac before the Lot-et-Garonne assizes, Monday June 17, the debates focused around the personality of Naïma Bel Allam, accused of the murder of her two little daughters.

For four days, Naïma Bel Allam appeared before the Lot-et-Garonne criminal court for the alleged murder of Inès and Nawal, her two poly-handicapped granddaughters. Placed under judicial supervision since 2021 after having spent four years in pre-trial detention, the accused arrived at the Agen Libre courthouse, accompanied by her counsel Mes Grolleau and Lamarque.

During the first half-day of the trial, the debates focused on the personality of the defendant. Naïma Bel Allam, originally from Morocco and arrived in France at the age of 4, is described by the personality investigator as a woman “with a strong character, stubborn, stubborn and who never gives in”. At the time of her disappearance, “her loved ones found her isolated and tired”.

The accused continues to deny the homicide

Her first husband, the father of her children, talks about her conflicted personality and her distrust of institutions. “I have always ensured that my two children are accompanied by the competent services. But she was against the system, against the institutions. With her, there were always insults and arguments. »

“She was always looking for the little beast and always wanted to be right. It was his lack of respect that made me leave. I did not have the role of a husband, I had that of a servant,” her second husband, with whom she was in a relationship from 2013 to 2015, confided to investigators.
And the two ex-spouses are categorical: “She was never violent with Inès and Nawal”. The latter was even “very protective”. The father added: “she could never have left her daughters with anyone, except perhaps her mother”.

In the dock, Naïma Bel Allam attentively listened to the different speeches, while taking notes. A way of dismantling the different arguments stated at the bar by the witnesses and civil parties. Because she has not changed her version: she did not kill her two little daughters. “Infanticide is horrible,” she will even respond to Me Bellacel, lawyer for the civil party, who asked her a question on the subject. The court reminded her that she faced life imprisonment and that she just needed to present proof of the life of the two little ones, nothing helped.

“I lived my life vicariously”

Questioned by the judges, she said she was “completely outraged” by the facts stated by the president when reading the indictment order. ” I do not accept. My children are alive. I abandoned them for their own sake. I don’t trust the institutions, you’re going to trick me. This report was made incriminatingly. In this case, I was not able to benefit from the presumption of innocence. Today, I’m just a mother waiting to see her daughters again,” she curses.

The accused also charged the father. “He abandoned his daughter and his wife who was three months pregnant,” she said on the stand. It’s as if he made me responsible for his daughters’ disabilities. He’s not the father of my children, he’s just the parent. He is remaking history, giving himself the right role. He’s making things up. »

Naïma Bel Allam finally recounted her daily life as a single mother with two disabled children. “I find it hard to tell you this, it’s part of my private life,” explains the Franco-Moroccan. We are not just a mother when we have children with disabilities, we are also a nurse, nanny and educator. It’s very heavy. Dressing them takes an hour and a half. It was when they weren’t there that I was worried. I remained amorphous, I no longer had the mental strength. At night, I would stare at the television or the computer. As Jean-Jacques Goldman says, I lived my life by proxy. »
