The À la Bonheur guinguette opened its doors on Saturday June 15, 2024, in the courtyard of the Vieux-Château in Laval. The place will welcome passers-by all summer until September 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Local products

“It’s a place with a family spirit,” indicates Florian Fesnoux, director of the company End Event, at the origin of the project. Similar establishments already exist in Saint-Malo, Vitré or Fougères.

A container housing a bar has been installed in front of the historic site. À la Bonheur therefore offers hot and cold drinks or food partly purchased locally. “Part of the wine comes from the Château Cellar. Tea from Thé et café. The cheese and charcuterie boards are made with products purchased on the market”, detail the employees behind the counter. On the sweet side, gourmets can also find cookies from Vitré.

Next door, a food truck run by the La Maison tea room will offer sweet and savory waffles on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturday evenings.

Activities all summer

In terms of entertainment, the season will launch on Friday June 21 with the Music Festival. Several concerts are planned with an exceptional closing at midnight. The program will then be revealed at the beginning of the month and is still under construction. “But there will be music, theater, yoga. Laval associations are welcome to offer initiations”invites Florian Fesnoux.

Wooden games, particularly on Wednesdays, and shuffleboards will also be available continuously.

“We hope to see between 500 and 1,000 people per day. But no one is obliged to consume. Furniture is available for picnics, as are games. The objective is to participate in the dynamics of the city center”specifies Florian Fesnoux.
