Gard tourism has unveiled the tourism report for this year 2024 in the department. Satisfactory and slightly upward results.
Tourist nights in Gard increased by 3% between April and September, compared to the same period in 2023. Among tourists, the French clientele is in good shape while the foreign clientele is on the rise.
Disparities in the season
However, even if the results for the entire season are positive, the tourist influx has not remained stable from month to month. Indeed, for professionals in the sector, the month of May was a real success while the month of July saw a lower level of activity compared to 2023. Concerning the different sectors, only that of catering experienced a drop in activity while the other sectors (accommodation, activities, shops, services and tourist offices) observed stable or increasing activity, compared to the year 2023. For this end of the year, reservations for vacation rental type accommodation are generally on the rise for the months of November (+4%) and December (+10%) despite a slight decrease recorded for the month of October.
