Human rights and civil society organizations began the process years ago of closing down the Islamic Charitable Society, headquartered in Darb Al Mitr in the center of the city, where it hosted dozens of pupils and students from rural areas, as well as the elderly, as part of its charitable and humanitarian action.

The decision to close was also a tragedy for users and workers, who found themselves suffering in silence due to deplorable unemployment.

A spokesperson for Heba Press said: “It is regrettable that this humanitarian teacher eventually closed its doors, especially as the association had assets and real estate which had contributed to funding since the 1970s. of his great humanitarian services to the needy and students in rural areas. »

The same spokesperson added: “We demand that an investigation be opened by the responsible authorities (the Ministry of the Interior) to find out who is responsible for the closure of this humanitarian monument and hold those responsible to account.”
