A violent attack occurred in the village of Arles-sur-Tech (Pyrénées-Orientales) on Saturday November 9. At the end of the afternoon, a couple in their forties were attacked by a young man in the city center of the town of 2,800 inhabitants.
Firefighters were called around 5 p.m. to help a 41-year-old woman suffering from a knife wound on her back. She was transported to hospital in absolute emergency via helicopter. His vital prognosis is not in jeopardy.
His 46-year-old companion is said to have had his hand pierced by the bladed weapon, and was also taken to hospital in relative emergency.
According to initial information, this couple from Corsavy, a few kilometers away, came to meet the young man on Rue des Fêtes. He allegedly threatened him, and the individual grabbed a knife in self-defense according to the mayor.
