They passed through Puget-Théniers this Saturday early in the afternoon before ending the day on Place Masséna in Nice.

The French Federation of Angry Bikers (FFMC) continues its “cash cow tour of France” in the Alpes-Maritimes department.

And they will leave Cannes this Sunday morning to join Fréjus and pass the torch to the Varois. Or rather to pass on their milk jug.

“It’s symbolic: we invite all the bikers we meet to submit their grievances which we will then pass on to the government,” clarifies Laurent Grilli, coordinator 06 of the FFMC.

And among them, there is the motorcycle technical inspection, implemented in April. We really have the impression of being cash cows: we are asked to pass it when no independent study has demonstrated its relevance for improving road safety.”

Reduced VAT on equipment

And that’s not all: “We are asking for reduced VAT on the equipment. They contribute to safety. However, their cost can be a barrier, especially for young people who have less means. A good helmet costs 400 euros, an airbag vest the same, good shoes are around 250-300 euros What is paradoxical is that motorcycling is considered a luxury product, but it is above all a passion and we, bikers, do not have it. means superior to others.”

Laurent Grilli advocates above all training, “particularly among young people, notably through voluntary training courses. And so that all users can ride in the best conditions, the roads must be in good condition. In the department, as soon as we spot an anomaly pothole type, we warn the town halls who play the game and repair it fairly quickly.”

And to echo the current political situation, the Maralpin coordinator of the FFMC assures: “We are apolitical, we refuse any recovery, however we are ready to provide our expertise to leaders, we are proactive.”
