The voters who brought two representatives from the list to the Montmirail municipal council Tomorrow Montmirail could only note the differences of opinion between these two elected officials during the municipal councils where they did not always vote in the same way.

This appeared even more evident on the occasion of September 17, when Jeremy Araque had opposed the project to extend the Health center. However, far from following its leader, Sabine Mary then abstained.

During this municipal council meeting on November 5, the first deliberation concerned the sharing of premises between two opposition groups which they could use independently of each other within the framework of their mandates as respective municipal elected officials. From the first seconds of the debate, the audience present understood that Sabine Mary and Jérémy Araqué were no longer a team together.

“It’s an old story, it’s no longer up to date”

Asked about the reasons for their separation at the end of the last municipal council, Jérémy Araqué and Sabine Mary refused to explain themselves.

As he put his parka back on his shoulders once the municipal council meeting was over, Jérémy Araqué evaded his response before explaining that he would not answer: “It’s a ancient historyit’s no longer up to date,” he said at first, before being clearer. I won't answer. I'm in a group and I won't answer yes or no. It's been a month now, we're not going to come back to that. »

“I won't say anything, I don't want to end up in court“, says Sabine Mary, now a member of the new Montmirail pour tous group, quickly leaving the council room.

Elected officials from the municipal majority are laughing

Also asked to find out more, certain elected representatives of the municipal majority provide some details: “After the last council, there was an explanation of the text between these two elected officials. Sabine Mary didn't want to resign and it was suggested that he create a new group apart from Jérémy Araqué in order to continue his mandate. “

If this type of event is not very common, such a decision is not extraordinary either. Over the course of mandates, it regularly happens that elected officials from a municipal majority are excluded, as happened a few months ago in Château-Thierry or even in Jouy-sur-Morin. This also sometimes happens in municipal opposition groups, but more rarely.
