Investigators did not expect to make such a seizure on Tuesday, November 5, during the search of the home of a 41-year-old man, in the Valencia metropolitan area.
Conducting checks as part of a drug trafficking case led by an investigating judge, police officers from the territorial crime division of the interdepartmental judicial police service (SIPJ) of Drôme discovered 40 weapons and the drug. This is what we call an “incidental seizure”, allowing the opening of a new investigation led, here, by the Valencia public prosecutor’s office.
More specifically, investigators got their hands on 27 long guns, 12 handguns, a submachine gun, and several hundred rounds of ammunition. Also seized were 5.5 kilos of cannabis herb, 1.2 kilos of resin, 280 ecstasy tablets and 100 g of MDMA.
If the forty-year-old, unknown to the courts, had authorizations allowing him to possess certain weapons, he will have to explain the possession of other models and narcotics. He must be brought before the prosecution on Saturday, November 9.
