The “cold cases” center has launched a new call for witnesses. Wednesday June 12, 2024, the serial or unsolved crimes unit of the Nanterre judicial court (Hauts-de-Seine) is looking for new testimonies to try to solve the murder of Ginette Naime, found dead on a path in Ollioules ( Var) on April 13, 2000.

“To date, the author has still not been identified”, indicated the public prosecutor of Nanterre, Pascal Prache, in a video broadcast on the website of the Ministry of the Interior. The body of Ginette Naime, 46, was found by walkers, stabbed with stab wounds, recalls the‘AFP. These walkers had previously seen an individual fleeing “at their sight while they were on the way to Gros Cerveau in Ollioules”explained Pascal Prache.

Two money withdrawals before his death

According to investigators from the Central Office for the Repression of Violence against Persons (OCRVP), the victim went to the municipal social action center of La Seyne-sur-Mer around 2:30 p.m. on the day of the incident. “An employee heard a woman screaming and from his window he saw a woman in a vehicle, on the front passenger side, knocking on the window, then the car drove away”explains an OCRVP investigator in the video.

The victim then made two money withdrawals from the BNP agency in La Seyne-sur-Mer. “A witness notices the presence of a man opposite, appearing to watch the victim”according to investigations.

The suspect fled in a car

The body of Ginette Naime was discovered at 3:35 p.m. “stabbed multiple times”. Witnesses immediately notified the police, giving them information about the person they had seen fleeing in a car. “We need your testimonies to identify the author of this murder”launched one of the investigators in the video.

Two judicial investigations had been opened: a first between 2000 and 2008 and a second between 2016 and 2020. The cold cases center has been seized of the case since the summer of 2022. The center launched this format of online calls for witnesses in April , which is inspired by the codes of news programs.
