Cultural cooperation as a priority. The Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, and the Chinese Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, Rao Quan, spoke on Thursday, June 13, 2024, about opportunities likely to strengthen the cultural partnership between Beijing and Rabat.

During these talks, the two parties highlighted the positive dynamics experienced by relations between Morocco and China, particularly since the signing of the Joint Declaration on the Strategic Partnership, by King Mohammed VI and President Xi Jinping, during of the Royal Visit to Beijing, in May 2016. MM.

Bensaid and Rao estimated that, given the importance of cultural cooperation in bringing the Moroccan and Chinese people together through culture, mechanisms will be implemented to develop bilateral initiatives in the field of cinema , cultural industries and the video games industry.

The two ministers agreed on bilateral coordination in regional and international forums related to culture. At the end of the meeting, the two parties signed the executive cultural cooperation program 2024-2028, aimed at promoting cultural exchanges, encouraging bilateral visits and creating cooperation initiatives and frameworks.

This program also focuses on strengthening coordination and cooperation at the level of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the exchange of expertise and continuing training.
