Like every year, the end of November is synonymous with good deals thanks to Black Friday. The event, originating in the United States, is traditionally held the day after the Thanksgiving celebration. In 2024 in France, Black Friday will therefore take place on Friday November 29. During this crazy day, thousands of products are available at unbeatable prices. If all departments are affected by the discounts, it is generally high-tech appliances and home equipment which are at the heart of the most interesting offers. Black Friday was introduced in France, through Amazon, in 2010. Over the years, it has grown in size to take place during almost the entire second half of November. So, we are now talking more about Black Week… In order not to miss any of the good deals to come, it is important to know when is Black Friday 2024 in France?
Offers not to be missed right now
Although Black Friday originally only lasted a single day, this has not been the case for some time now. In fact, given the success of the event, more and more merchants are organizing advance promotions. Depending on the stores, this can be a week, or even two weeks before the big day. Friday is generally the day that reserves the best surprises, with significant discounts on new arrivals and best sellers. So that everyone can benefit, the offers then multiply throughout the weekend. To extend the event a little, American online merchants decided, in 2005, to create Cyber Monday. During this last day of discounts, a new round of exclusive promotions is organized, but only online. For 24 hours, the most popular products are offered at unbeatable prices: smartphones, tablets, computers, connected devices… From the first edition, it was an immediate success. It is therefore natural that Cyber Monday crossed the Atlantic to establish itself on the Old Continent. Now, like Black Friday, this final day of promotions is impatiently awaited by all bargain lovers.
Black Friday in France enjoys such notoriety that the vast majority of brands participate in it. Thus, the big names in online commerce like Amazon, Cdiscount or Rakuten are on the front line to help you save money. Specialized sites, such as Manomano, Emma or Sephora are not left out and also offer discounts on a wide selection of products. However, in recent years, organizations have been setting up counter-events to warn of certain excesses in consumer society. This is for example the case of Green Friday, launched in 2017 under the leadership of the ENVIE network, since joined by other actors in the social and solidarity economy. The ambition of Green Friday is to encourage citizens to question their consumption habits, and to make them think about their consequences on the environment. Under the leadership of the Ocean as Common association, the date of Black Friday was also chosen to celebrate Blue Friday. The various brands and major retailers are encouraged to donate part of the turnover generated by Black Friday in favor of the preservation of the oceans.
