SAFETY / 182 municipalities are affected by the obligation in the Alpes de Haute-Provence

– Alpes de Haute-Provence –

“Think about your winter equipment” reminds the prefect of the Alpes de Haute-Provence. From November 1st until March 31st, equipment is mandatory. 182 municipalities out of the 198 in the department are concerned. Concretely, light vehicles, utility vehicles, coaches, buses, campers and also heavy goods vehicles must be equipped with four winter tires or have removable anti-slip tires. In this case, at least two driving wheels must be equipped. Heavy goods vehicles with a trailer or semi-trailer must have snow chains fitted to at least two drive wheels even if they are fitted with winter tyres. Signs inform you of the entry or exit of a mountain area. But this year again, despite the obligation, there should be no sanctions.

Note that in Hautes-Alpes, the entire Department is concerned by this obligation.
